Ace of the Court

Teresa Kaiser  |  Age 17  |  Skutt Catholic High School

High-Level competition is nothing unusual for the Hutnick-Kaiser family.  Whether it’s their string of success at Skutt, or their Wednesday night family tennis competitions, the desire to compete has been constant, starting at an early age, competing at the age of 10 in the Missouri Valley team events and tournaments.

Teresa Kaiser, the youngest of three girls to attend Skutt Catholic, has been nothing short of spectacular, capturing her first Tennis State Championship in 2014, after runner-up performances in both her freshman and sophomore campaigns.  Her impressive 81-5 record over three years as Skutt’s #1 Singles Player has garnered the attention of those in the Nebraska tennis circles, as she was named an All-State First Team Selection each year, as well as All-State Captain in 2014.

“Teresa’s encouragement during last season had a huge impact on the success we experienced last year,” said Skutt Tennis Coach Sheryl Vaughn when asked what Kaiser meant to the team.

The Kaiser girls have brought team Championships to Skutt Catholic, six out of the last seven years, while Teresa hopes to make it four straight as she finishes out her high school career in 2015.

In addition to tennis, Kaiser is also an accomplished golfer for Skutt, where she was the school’s number one golfer in 2013 and 2014, named an All-State Selection her sophomore, Junior, and senior seasons.  Her consistent play helped propel her team to a Runner-Up finish at State in 2014, after capturing an individual Championship at Districts.

Kaiser is also a champion in the classroom, where she carries a 3.9GPA, and is a member of National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Prevention Council, FBLA, and in on the Speech Team.

Teresa is the daughter of John Kaiser and Felicia Hutnick.  Her oldest sister Alexis attends Clemson University, while her sister Stephanie attends the University of Miami (FL).
