Waterfront Oasis

Three years ago, Bluewater in Valley, NE, was the site of the annual MOBA Street of Dreams. Local builder Majestic Homes featured a 4,300 sq. ft. four-bedroom, five-bathroom story and a half showcase property with multiple lake views. As soon as Teresa Elliott set foot in the home, she fell in love with it. Although she was an existing lake home owner, the privacy and serenity of Bluewater drew her in, and she’s been enjoying her oasis ever since.

“When I walked in, it was an instant wow factor with all the windows looking out onto the lake,” Elliott said. “And I adored being able to open those up onto the patio.” The windows slide open between the living room and patio, which includes a fireplace, built-in grill and TV, and a retractable phantom screen between the outdoor seating area and the rest of the patio, creating a complete extension of the entertainment area.

One of Elliott’s other favorite features is the bookcase in the den that opens directly into the master bathroom for a secluded connection between the den and the master suite. It’s those types of details that she appreciates about the home and Majestic’s design focus on craftsmanship and the large living spaces. Its transitional style, carried throughout the home, makes it appealing to a variety of personal tastes.

Elliott did make a few changes to the home, including the addition of a Thermador wine fridge, a large built-in bar off the kitchen, a fireplace in the master suite, and new light fixtures. The home includes all Eurowood cabinets, quartz countertops and tile floors in the kitchen, an intricate curved staircase, iron front doors, and a floor to ceiling stone fireplace in the great room, which has 24-ft. ceilings. Elliott admitted the home’s kitchen is her favorite kitchen she’s ever had, with its large waterfall style island, foil-wrapped cabinets, slate tile backsplash, and walk-in pantry where she houses her coffee station.

The second level loft serves as a casual gaming and bar area, much like a basement would, with a pool table, wet bar, home theater, and balcony that overlooks the lake. Elliott said it’s where her family likes to gather when everyone is home for the holidays. For more formal entertaining, such as work functions, she utilizes the main indoor/outdoor areas. “I entertain all the time and spend pretty much all summer outside,” she added.

Convenience is another important element throughout the home’s floor plan. The main floor includes laundry, a workout room, large drop zone, and a shower room directly off a separate entrance from the lake. “The open concept allows for great entertaining and comfortable living with all activities on one floor,” Elliott said. All four bedrooms are on the main floor, but the master is completely separate from the others, so it is its own private retreat. The neutral dark and light colors throughout the home are soft and soothing, but one can easily add splashes of color with accessories.

Elliott recommends Bluewater for anyone interested in a lake home who is looking for the ultimate in relaxation and entertainment, whether it’s as a primary or secondary home. The lake does allow jet skis, but she said it’s not as crowded as other lake communities. “The mix of urban and lakefront living is perfect,” she said. “I love this particular lot because it’s directly across from trees, so you don’t look out onto anyone else. It really is an oasis, and water serves as therapy. Once you get here, you don’t want to leave.” For additional information or to schedule a private showing, contact Teresa Elliott with NextHome Signature Real Estate, 402-690-1573, Teresa@ElliottOmaha.com.
